We're glad you are here, and if you've been here before you will notice some changes.
That's all four of us above.
Geeta is to my left, me being the one with the white hair.

We are all smiling for a photograph -- we must have been on drugs or something that day
since that never happens. It was a nice fall day in Shrewsbury, Massachusetts.
Four years ago Lila was in love with Van Gogh -- hence the Van Gogh theme for this web-site.
I have yet to find a better theme and especially like it now
since it matches the unfocussed photograph. One of these days I will be forced to use a better photo.

Why "one in a million"? Well, I tried to estimate how many Aiyers
(Iyer/Ayyar/occasionally Ayer) there are in the world and I think there are between
between 1 and 4 million of us. Aiyers are an Indian sub-caste originally from the south of India.
In the last hundred years there has been a diaspora of Ayyars (along with other Indians) and they
are spread all over the world. The vast majority are still in the south of India.
Making this estimate occasions much debate,
so if you disagree, you can send me email, and I'll read it if it has a meaningful subject.
But we may be unable to resolve it without some real counting and I don't know who'll do that.
At four people to a family, that makes an Aiyer family one in a million.
